I'm back from my Bintan trip three days ago.
Had a nice time there chilling out with my family after my exams.

Before the trip, I'm always lazy to do anything other than rotting at home. I dont even stretch myself not to mention exercise. However, I have spent my three days there playing lots of different sports.

Day 1
- swimming on the beach (the water is sparkling clear and clean)
- proceed to challenge the beach boys (locals) beach soccer which my brother and I lost. Have to pay each opponent SGD$5.
- the banana boat which the guide purposely kept capsizing the boat and we have to use lots of strength to climb back onto the boat in the middle of the sea.
- to the resort's swimming pool to cool down

Day 2
- Snorkelling. Beautiful coral reefs and fishes. Luckily there's no sharks.
- Beach volleyball with my brother and his gf against three Singaporeans. (Yeah, lots of singaporeans there. Even the restaurants at Bintan have more singaporeans than nus canteen)
- Archery. Tough on fingers which get sore after repetitive recoiling of the strings. Manage to hit only one target after 20 arrows. Oh well.
- Dune Buggy ride. A mini jeep with no power steering. Driving one hour across the beach, the muddy tracks, bumpy humps, forests.

Day 3
- some swimming in the beach and pool
- table tennis
- table futsal

The one thing that all must go when they visit bintan is the massage and spa. The javanese massage therapists are much more skilful than those I have tried so far in Singapore. The price is about 40% cheaper in Bintan compared to Singapore.

Yeah not to forget, I met one mp there and smiled to him. To my surprise, he said hi to me. The first thing he asked was which part of Singapore I lived in. I do not belong to his ward. He politely left after saying he brought his family to Bintan for holiday.

After the trip, I'm now starting on my vacation internship at one of the electronics company. Looking forward to more exciting and challenging stuff. Till then, enjoy the holidays guys.

Before CG

The toy inside the big box is a studio scale replica of the Millennium Falcon driven by Han Solo in Star Wars.
It is the exact replica of what they used during filming in the seventies and early eighties.
Back then there is no CG to model ships and environment.
Everything is done using models.

I guess to non-Star Wars fans, this is another funny looking odd ship.

School has started for me.
This is already the second week.
About 90 odd days to final exams.

Finished planning my third and fourth year modules.
I have more or less decided on my specialisation.
That is Multimedia Signal Processing..
doing image synthesis and processing, comp vision,  comp graphics, comp animation, digital entertainment, DSP.
Lots of Comp Science modules.
Meaning having to face the likes of Anis for the next four semesters.
SOC friends, give me all the help that you can.

Present Age - CG

This semester I'm doing one interesting module for my specialisation - Comp Graphics.
The first lab assignment is fun.
Have to download this popular online game called Second Life.
The task is to find our lecturer in-game character and snap a picture with him.
Lecturer's objective is to make sure we know how an online game looks like and also we know how to move about in 3D environment.

Arrival of my Master Replica Star Wars Millennium Falcon.

It is definitely a huge box.
Bigger than what I had expected.

This is by far the biggest and most expensive toy in my collection.

Yeah last night the commercial which features my two dogs were shown on TV.
One on Channel 5 during the PCK time slot.
The other on Channel 8 during the 9pm chinese drama.

I didnt get to catch it as Im still working during those timings.
But I was told that the commercial was very very fast.
My baby could only catch max swimming and me carrying the shopping basket.

Meanwhile, please support my friend Jeremy K for superstar.
His revival round will be shown tomorrow night.
Please vote for him if you think he deserves your support.
Do drop a note of support to him if you support him as well.

I wont be in Singapore during the voting period.
But still wish him all the best.
I'm already very impressed by all his performance.

Lastly, I will be away for a few days.

5/12/2006

Forgot to add this entry last week.

Right after my last paper (yes finally Im going year 3 next Jan),
my parents and I brought our two family dogs to
our friend's pet farm at pasir ris.
According to the pet shop owners, they  are going to shoot a TV commercial
and need our dogs to sort of make up the numbers.

The pet shop is really huge man.
It is actually a warehouse, but the owners revamped it into a pet shop
and there is even an outdoor swimming pool for the dogs to swim about.
When we reached there, they told us they need us to act as
shoppers otherwise known as "calafares" (extras).
I had to carry the shopping basket and tried to fill it to the brim.

The next scene was to film the entire shop with all the dogs seating nicely with all the dog food products.
Johnny refused to join in.
Max on the other hand is very obedient and he manage to sit through w/o moving for a whole ten minutes.

The last scene was to film the dog swimming pool.
All the dogs have to swim around the pool.
Johhny has no problem swimming and he swam like he was in the olympics,
the pose is beautiful.
Max on the other hand doesnt like swimming since he is quite fat and heavy.
But he still did a great job in the pool.
Since he is the biggest dog among all,
he took up all the attention in this scene.

I think the commercial has started airing on tv already.
Can catch it on Channel 5 and 8.
I have yet to see it myself though.
However, my baby told me she saw the ad on tv already.
Thankfully only my side view is captured at the shoppers' scene.
Check out the dogs man, they are beautiful esp when they are swimming.

6/12/06

Finally met up with my animals.

Initially Xiaoyan decided on  going double O, luckily she cancelled it due to her sore throat.
In the end, she decided on chomp chomp for a very late supper.
Ryan and Situ were there first and I think they waited for very long.
Sorry for the delay man, I apologise to both of you on the behalf of xiaoyan.
She had kept us waiting inside the car for 5 minutes.
Go for supper still must dress nice.. wear perfume.

We ordered the usual stuffs like stingray, oyster egg, the gigantic sugar canes.
Everyone were eating except xiaoyan
Ironically, she was the one who suggested the supper.
Instead, she was taking photos of food, pretty people, handsome guys.

Before we left, she wanted to take a group photo.
So we approached the uncle who was cleaning our table.
We asked and he told us he is busily cleaning the table, no time to help us take pictures.
At this instant he was right in front of dog.. and the next thing dog knew..
The cleaner farted right in front of his face.

Anyway, in the end we managed to find someone to help us take a group photo.

Since xiaoyan is going to take her driving practical exams soon, someone suggested she give us a spin in of the cars.
Ryan obliged to let her drive his car.
Everyone were inside the car except me and dog.

The two of us waited at the main road for the car to appear..
We waited for very very long..
Suddenly, we saw one car crawling towards us.
It was xiaoyan driving.
There's another car right behind the car, and the driver was giving the pissed off face.
Thankfully she managed to make her way to the carpark safely.. if not ryan car insurance premium would have been raised the next time round.
