I'm back from my Bintan trip three days ago.
Had a nice time there chilling out with my family after my exams.
Before the trip, I'm always lazy to do anything other than rotting at home. I dont even stretch myself not to mention exercise. However, I have spent my three days there playing lots of different sports.
Day 1
- swimming on the beach (the water is sparkling clear and clean)
- proceed to challenge the beach boys (locals) beach soccer which my brother and I lost. Have to pay each opponent SGD$5.
- the banana boat which the guide purposely kept capsizing the boat and we have to use lots of strength to climb back onto the boat in the middle of the sea.
- to the resort's swimming pool to cool down
Day 2
- Snorkelling. Beautiful coral reefs and fishes. Luckily there's no sharks.
- Beach volleyball with my brother and his gf against three Singaporeans. (Yeah, lots of singaporeans there. Even the restaurants at Bintan have more singaporeans than nus canteen)
- Archery. Tough on fingers which get sore after repetitive recoiling of the strings. Manage to hit only one target after 20 arrows. Oh well.
- Dune Buggy ride. A mini jeep with no power steering. Driving one hour across the beach, the muddy tracks, bumpy humps, forests.
Day 3
- some swimming in the beach and pool
- table tennis
- table futsal
The one thing that all must go when they visit bintan is the massage and spa. The javanese massage therapists are much more skilful than those I have tried so far in Singapore. The price is about 40% cheaper in Bintan compared to Singapore.
Yeah not to forget, I met one mp there and smiled to him. To my surprise, he said hi to me. The first thing he asked was which part of Singapore I lived in. I do not belong to his ward. He politely left after saying he brought his family to Bintan for holiday.
After the trip, I'm now starting on my vacation internship at one of the electronics company. Looking forward to more exciting and challenging stuff. Till then, enjoy the holidays guys.
